Main Purpose of the Job

Support the Senior Consultant to deliver against current client objectives and securing new business. The jobholder is required to manage day to day operations for each client account. Build
and maintain successful relations with clients, ensuring their expectations are met and exceeded, encouraging organic growth. Design and implement successful PR programmes in line with clients own business strategy to time scale and budget. Formulate and manage required budgets. Have an in-depth knowledge of the retail sector spanning both consumer and trade. Proactively enhance their own knowledge of relevant media and the ongoing objectives of the clients. Encourage, motivate and develop team members to deliver beyond expectations.

Knowledge and Experience

An assumption will be made that the client objectives are incorporated into the jobholder’s actions and they have the ability to execute their knowledge to a high standard.
• Through both internal and client contact, ensure awareness of client objectives and
appropriately communicate those objectives as the client’s key messages
• Have an established and maintained industry knowledge appropriate to the clients products and services
• Build and maintain a knowledge of consumer media
• Build and maintain a knowledge of retail environments.
• Extensively utilise media relations to obtain appropriate coverage both personally and as a team
• Ability to produce a broad range of editorial, promotional and reporting material, e.g. press
releases, features, competitions or reports, using the appropriate techniques and styles
• Place editorial features and competitions
• Generate creative ideas
• Source appropriate suppliers to provide additional products and services
• Manage client contact through appropriate verbal and written communication
• Manage media enquiries
• Conduct desk research and analyse findings
• Take and deliver accurate briefs
• Understand how to define a measurable PR objective
