JOB DESCRIPTION: Legal Secretary
Godalming - Free parking
1. Required qualification, skills and experience
1.1 Professional manner
1.2 IT literate with excellent Word skills and fast accurate typing speed - min 70wpm
1.3 Previous experience as a legal secretary or experience of working in a similar professional office
1.4 Specific relevant legal experience is desirable
2. Role
2.1 To provide full secretarial support to fee earners and provide excellent client service. This will include, but not be limited to, the main responsibilities given below
3. Main Responsibilities
3.1 Audio/copy typing of letters/documents/memos/faxes/file notes invoices etc ensuring all work is to a high standard
3.2 Dealing with filing which will include daily filing and the opening/closing/storage and retrieval of files in accordance with procedures
3.3 To prepare mail and enclosures for despatch
3.4 To arrange for all copying to be done
3.5 To make appointments, arrange meetings and to maintain an up-to-date diary
3.6 To provide refreshments when asked to do so
3.7 To assist other staff members where appropriate, working in a team
3.8 To attend clients/contacts both in person and on the telephone and to provide such support in a professional and friendly manner in keeping with the firm's standards for client care
3.9 To undertake any specific training when required to do so and overall to have a responsibility towards self-development
3.10 Dealing with basic accounting procedures, paying in cheques, requesting cheques and obtaining relevant accounting information from the IT system
3.11 To ensure the confidentiality of all the firm's and client's documentation and information
3.12 Assisting within the department or any other duties as reasonably requested
9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
